Johnny Helwick
Johnny was born in Junction City KS, moved to Kearney and graduated Kearney High in 1985.
He also plays percussion, guitar and is a master at the Vibraslap.
Johnny used to be Lead singer of Leroy and the Liars.
Musical influences include X, Elvis Costello, Blondie, Dave Alvin & Chet Baker.
Tony Robertson
Born in Grand Island NE. Grew up and still resides in Cairo. Graduated in 1990 from Centura Public School.
Music was his family's life, they share their musical talent with him as he can play guitar, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, pedal steel, bass, saxophone & dobro. His new aspiration, to learn the fife.
Musical influences include a strong dose of bluegrass. He likes good blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, The Hellacasters and AC/DC. He also likes hard rock including Tool, Primus, Guns and Roses. Additionally, he enjoys gypsy jazz and Django Reinhard.
Joel Fought
Joel was born in Aberdeen SD and graduated Alliance High School 1988. Graduated University of NE-Kearney.
He's played in many bands in the Kearney area the last 15 years including Blue Mesa till 2001. Joel joined The Darlings in 2002 after learning the upright bass in 2 months!
Musical influences include: Grateful Dead, Led Zepplin, Lou Reed & Bob Dylan. But his love for AC/DC lead him to becoming a musician.
Joseph Gourlay
Joe was born and raised in Lincoln NE. Graduated Lincoln Southeast in 1980.
He's drummed in many Zoo Bar bands including Heartmurmers & Tablerockers. Joe joined The Darlings in 1998.
Musical influences include: jazz & fusion, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra & Magic Sam.
Robert Arnold
Born in Newport Beach CA. Grew up Costa Mesa and moved to Lincoln in 1975. Graduated Southeast in 1982.
Rob works for UN in communications & info Technology since '98.
